Welcome

Students struggle at school for a wide variety of reasons. Some lack the motivation or self-concept needed to succeed. Others have information processing deficits, ADHD, or other neurobiological problems that interfere with their learning. Researchers in education, psychology, cognitive neuroscience, and related fields have identified hundreds of factors that can interfere with learning.

As a result, it can be very difficult for the parents of a struggling child or teenager to know what to do. This is where a comprehensive evaluation can help. By testing all areas that could be the potential cause of a problem, we are able to identify the source of the struggles and develop a clear understanding of how to structure intervention strategies. From this, we can develop targeted interventions to use both at home and at school to help your child reach his or her potential. Academic and social success will follow.

Who may benefit from a comprehensive psychoeducational evaluation?

  • Young students beginning to show some of the warning signs of learning problems (i.e., poor academic performance, behavior problems, disliking school, etc.).
  • Older students intelligent enough to compensate for learning difficulties, but are facing new academic challenges (i.e., starting an academically rigorous high school or going to college).
  • Students with social or emotional difficulties impacting education (i.e., a child who is unable to form relationships with others at school).
  • Children, adolescents, or adults with attention problems or hyperactivity/impulsivity needing an evaluation for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
  • Those seeking testing accommodations for the ACT, SAT, GRE, or other standardized assessment.
  • Those who have sought assessment in the past, but still feel their questions have not been answered. I can provide a more thorough assessment to ensure these questions are answered.

As a Licensed Educational Psychologist and a credentialed School Psychologist, I have worked with countless students and parents facing these issues. My offices are located in Marin County and Folsom, and I serve clients in person and via telehealth in California.
